A low granite point at the Ipanema end of the beach, a short walk up from the sand. It is the city's best known spot to watch the sun set behind Morro Dois Irmãos, so it fills up in the hour before. Go a little earlier for room on the rock.

Pros
  • +The iconic Rio sunset
  • +Free and always open
  • +Room to move on the rock
Cons
  • Packed right before sunset
  • Beach drone rules are strict
