A wide first-floor hall on Rua do Riachuelo, in Lapa, with a sprung wooden floor that has hosted dances since 1867. It runs gafieira and samba nights with live orchestras, most reliably on Fridays and Saturdays, and the floor is for dancing rather than standing. Tickets at the door; go up the stairs from the street.
